Idaho Power’s coal and natural gas plants and their emissions are regulated by both the public utilities commissions of Idaho and Oregon and the states’ environmental agencies.  There also is oversight by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Costs for expansions, upgrades and enhancements to our plants must be approved by the public utilities commissions that regulate the rate-making process before any associated costs can be included in customers’ rates.
