Want to have a more direct choice in the source of your power? Learn more about Idaho Power’s voluntary Green Power Program. This program allows you to add an amount you choose to your power bill, to be used in the purchase of energy from resources certified as “green” by the Bonneville Environmental Foundation. This lets you offset a portion of your electrical use from coal or natural gas-fired plants with clean, green power.

Interested in more direct action? Idaho Power’s net metering program lets those who own a small wind or solar resource directly produce a portion or all of their energy themselves. Those who produce more than they sell receive a net metering credit for the energy they produce above and beyond their needs.
